Ascot Arrived 14th August 2006. He is a retired Police Horse on loan from The Metropolitan Police Authority. Ascot worked as a police horse for 9 Years, attending numerous football matches and demonstrations. He is a pleasure to ride, enjoys jumping and is a lead horse in our musical ride.
Put to sleep August 2016 Due to long term lameness problems which were no longer responsive to treatment/pain relief.
Joined us on 14th August 2006 aged 13 years old after 7 years of Policing the streets of London. He got fed up of Police work and fancied a change! Ascot was just a dream, we only had him a week and he went to a show as lead file in the Musical Ride! From that day on he remained a lead horse in the team. He loved his work, enjoyed a jump, was perfect in the school and lovely to handle on the ground. He didn't like being clipped as was a sensitive chap. Ascot loved the ladies so much that he couldn't be put in a field even next to the mares without strutting his stuff and getting himself in a pickle. A big kind cuddly boy who we were very lucky to have for 10 years. We are going to miss him so much as will his best buddy Sam.
Bettina : Sad news. A great ranger horse and true character. So many happy memories of riding Ascot. They will be running free with all their old buddies now.
Morwenna : So sad, I don't think I would ever have got through my GS jumping if it hadn't been for Ascot, such a great horse, a huge loss xxx
