Edward arrived at Horse Rangers with Nancy, having previously lived at the stables that used to be next door to the Mews. He was a good all round horse and used for all Horse Ranger activities. He had a huge personality and was rather spoiled by all of us. A bit of a troublemaker and a Houdini as Edward was always trying to escape from both his stable and field! He was an expert at knowing how to untie his lead and go for a stroll without permission.
As Edward's thoughts were usually ruled by his tummy - he could invariably be easily caught by tempting him with some food.
When he was younger he used to participate in the musical ride, but in the latter part of his life he was on half days but used extensively by Squadron 6 for our special needs riders.
Edward retired with Nancy to the Horse Trust's retirement home at Speen Farm in July of this year. He continued to be kept with Nancy. Sadly after just 5 months retirement with the Horse Trust, Edward's health began to deteriorate and his was put to sleep on Friday 16 November 2012. Rest in peace our lovely boy.
